It’s been 18 years since the launch of the Ref. 5396, so it is fitting that its latest iteration is also its most refined. The white gold Calatrava case retains its 38.5mm by 11.2mm dimensions, but now encircles a gradient blue dial with a sunburst finish and baguette-cut diamond hour markers. The self-winding 26-330 S QA LU 24H is an annual calendar movement, so it requires only one manual adjustment a year at the end of February.

First introduced in 1990, Breguet’s Marine collection is a slight departure from its classic dress watch stable to pay homage to its maritime roots. This new reference, however, infuses some ballroom glamour to the chronograph with 90 baguette-cut diamonds set into the bezel. The hand-guilloche wave pattern on the dial brings an element of craftsmanship to the sporty model.

It may be a little hard to believe that there hasn’t been a blue-faced Black Bay Chrono before now, but there you have it – a boutique exclusive with a dial and bezel in a crisp blue shade with contrasting red accents. Another dive watch that is keen to look stylish even out of the water is the Tag Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 series. Following the collection’s overhaul in 2021, the Aquaracer Professional 300 Date is the latest model to get a refreshed look. The stainless-steel case is now 42mm instead of 43mm, complete with brushed and polished surfaces, while the dial features a sunray brushed wave pattern instead of straight grooves.
