Two flagship separates, including a pre-amplifier and amplifier, as well as the brand’s first source players, a turntable and streaming player, join the 5805 and 5802 integrated amplifiers launched last year. Each product in the series is premium precision-engineered to deliver high-quality Levinson performance in an original custom design. In line with the 5000 series look and feel, they share a black-anodized aluminum shell that is machined and contoured seamlessly into the glass display. With standout features like debossed top cover vents, screen-printed logo, and machined aluminum buttons, no detail has been overlooked.
In a nod to the brand’s history, the Nº 5105 record weight is modelled on the iconic Mark Levinson hourglass knob. A 10-inch high gloss black carbon fiber tonearm is complemented by a 14 lb. aluminum platter suspended on a steel axel. The oil-free bearing bottom ensures reliable operation for years to come. A control signal, digitally generated by the 12V synchronous motor, reduces flutter and ensures stability.
With five digital audio inputs available, the Nº5101 player offers high-resolution audio streaming over WIFI or Ethernet, supports a wide array of digital audio file types, and includes an SACD input. Inside, the Nº5101 features proprietary Mark Levinson PurePath circuitry. Ports include IP, RS-232, IR input, and 12V trigger input. Each player comes with a newly designed aluminum remote.
Inspired heavily by the design philosophy that lies behind the distinguished Mark Levinson 500 Series products, the № 5206 Dual-Monaural Preamplifier offers a similar experience with new affordability. It features four stereo line-level inputs–two balanced XLR and two single-ended. The Mark Levinson Precision Link II™ DAC guarantees outstanding digital audio capability. Best of all for those needing a more discreet listening option, the Main Drive headphone output eliminates the need for a separate headphone amp.
The fully discrete, direct-coupled, class AB № 5302 amplifier features an oversized 1100 VA toroidal transformer with secondary windings for the left and right channels. A voltage gain stage descended from the acclaimed № 534 amplifier is matched with two high-speed Class A driver transistors and six 260V, 15A output transistors. Two Thermal-Trak devices in a unique configuration guarantee stable output bias regardless of load or temperature. A stand-out design feature is the cosmetic-grade solid aluminum handles and the forty-two tri-grouped heatsink fins per side. The robust beauty and function of the № 5302 round out the 5000 Series.
