Here's To The Red And Blue

13 Sep 2019

Sophisticated designs triumph on the back of two striking hues

Meridiani recreated the ideal apartment in its booth at the Salone del Mobile earlier this year. Lived in and casual, the apartment was presented as a series of elegant rooms with wall, floor and ceiling in various shades of gray making up a neutral backdrop for the selection of furniture in striking dark red and navy. Tobacco hues were also introduced in the setting with a series of towering wood screens that separated various areas into rooms.

Meridiani combined off-series pieces – such as the Zeno dining table and the Norton Capitonné sofa – with easily recognizable ones, including the Hubert dining table, the Joseph sofa, the Josephine armchair, the Isetta textile chair, and the Verner storage cabinet.

Joseph Sofa

A bean-shaped seat and an enveloping back and arm give the Joseph sofa a graceful shape, while the fitted upholstery provide a sleek finish. Matching pillows can be stacked for comfort or ornament. The piece comes in choices of tight and quilted in stripe pattern, either of which can be placed in the middle of the room surrounded by complementary pieces.

Small Armchairs Josephine

With the graceful characteristics the Joseph sofa, the Josephine armchair is a very comfortable seat that swivels on its base. Also available in tight and quilted versions, it is an ideal match to the Joseph sofa and many other pieces in the Meridiani collections.

Zeno Dining Table

Standing on three legs and supported further by angled elements that wrap around the table top, the Zeno table conveys its sophistication by its rigorous design and high gloss lacquer finish. The three legs’ girth adequately supports the ample round top and gives the deceptively simple piece the right sense of proportion.

Verner Storage Unit

Based on a modular system, the Verner storage unit allows the creation of several angled and straight compositions. A simplicity derived from the tubular blacks legs and the high-gloss lacquer finish lend it an air of sophistication. Meanwhile, the central unit’s contrasting gold parts provide an element of surprise.

With key pieces that are well-designed and executed, satisfying both practical and stylistic requirements, the Meridiani 2019 collection is set to become classics. On the whole, it reflects the brand's sharp awareness of modern lifestyle, well-defined aesthetics, and an enduring commitment to fine craftsmanship.
