As we celebrate the Year of the Rabbit this Chinese New Year, Yan’s Dining marks the auspicious occasion with luxurious menu offerings that are available between 16 January and 5 February 2023.
Yan’s Dining, which is quietly nestled on the top floor of Mandarin Gallery, is well loved for its authentic and classic Shanghainese delicacies, which are made even more special with a focus on seasonal produce and ingredients. For the Lunar New Year period, diners can choose between six CNY Prosperity Set Menus, which cater to groups of four, six, eight, and 10 pax. For the four pax set menu ($588++), the meal starts with a Prosperity Abalone Lo Hei, followed by Good Fortune Appetizers, which include Jiangnan Crispy Eel, Crispy Japanese Hairtail, and Sea Snails and Cucumber Skin Roll, among others. Also included is the Japanese Matsutake Chicken Soup, four main courses, and three desserts.
For bigger groups, the eight pax set menu ($1,188++) starts with the Prosperity Abalone Lo Hei, followed by the Good Fortune Appetizers comprised of eight dishes, the Shanghai Old Classic Pickled Pork Soup, and six main courses, which include Wong Fei Hung Shrimp Balls with Rice Cake, Spanish Pork Neck in XO Sauce, and Steamed Marble Goby with Crab Meat.
For the ultimate indulgence, the 10 pax set menu ($1,388++) is perfect with the Prosperity Abalone Lo Hei, Good Fortune Appetizers with eight dishes, Shar Fin with Crab Meat Soup, and seven main courses, comprised of Braised Sea Cucumber with Fish Maw, Butter Chicken and Abalone, Steamed Marble Goby with Shepherd’s Purse, and Japanese Lily Scallops with Pickled Vegetables and Asparagus. The set also features three desserts.
In addition, those who wish to celebrate at home can opt for takeaway items, which include the Yan’s Dining Lunar New Year Lucky Mini Luggage Hamper, Drunken Prawn in Aged Hua Diao Wine, and Drunken Hairy Crab in Aged Hua Diao Wine. Gift items, such as Shanghai Traditional Sweet Fermented Rice/Rice Wine Juice and 1000 Horia Extra Virgin Olive Oil are also available.
