Beer steins at the ready, the largest beer festival in the world is upon us. What started as a wedding celebration for the Bavarian crown prince in 1810 evolved into an annual tradition of drinking, feasting, and general merrymaking. Two centuries later, the party continues.
Today’s Oktoberfest is the ultimate celebration of German culture, its cuisine, and of course, its beer. It is no secret that the Germans take their beer very seriously and tapping the keg with a couple of swings of the hammer marks the very beginning of the festival.
For a taste of the festivities closer to home, head over to Brotzeit, one of the Singapore’s most iconic German restaurant chains. They have a series of events planned until the end of October for you to buy tickets to or alternatively, have them bring the party to you. Brotzeit has also made it their business to spread German revelry through hosting and planning corporate events or catering for house parties.
Whatever the reason for a fier (read: party), know that Brotzeit is well-equipped to support that.

Month of Merry
Expect a full calendar of events through October, culminating in an Oktoberfest closing party at Brotzeit’s VivoCity outpost on Saturday, 28 October, as well as an Oktoberfest closing brunch at Brotzeit Westgate on 29 October. The restaurant chain also has outlets throughout the island – VivoCity, Raffles City, Katong, and Westgate – so simply pick the location most convenient to you, gather your friends and family, and head down for a spiffing good time.
Brotzeit will also be dishing up sumptuous Oktoberfest spreads that are designed to feed and water a crowd. For $65++ a head (with a minimum guarantee of 16 pax), the feast eases in with classic Bavarian Weisswurst served with sweet mustard and soft pretzels before hulking, jaw-dropping trays of Nürnberger Stadtwurst sausage, crispy pork belly, coils of Thüringer sausage, and roasted pork chops hit the table. Naturally, the pièce de résistance of any German feast is the pork knuckle and Brotzeit does this spectacularly.
Finally, wash down all that food by adding a 2-hour free flow drinks package starting from $48++ per person. Expect free-flowing Erdinger’s special Oktoberfest and draught beer, as well as house red and white wines depending on the package chosen.
For a keepsake of the momentous event, Brotzeit has a range of consumables and collectibles for sale. From Erdinger hampers complete with beer steins to Oktoberfest felted hats, limited edition Oktoberfest Slyrs whisky to giant pretzels, there is something for everyone.

Bring the Party to You
Planning for a private party at home or a corporate event at work? Brotzeit is more than happy to bring the party to you, bells and whistles included. Catering specifically for parties of over 30 revelers, Brotzeit offers a choice of two menus – $55++ or $75++ a head – that come with choice German gourmet favorites. Think a pork knuckle carving station and platters piled high with succulent roast chicken, tasty pork sausages, and accouterments such as sauerkraut and potato salad.
A variety of drinks packages are also available for planners to select from, depending on the party’s requirements. Make a statement with a barrel or two of Erdinger’s Oktoberfest beer, which was specially imported for the occasion, or opt for other Erdinger varieties. They’re all good.
Planners will also be happy to know that manpower, tableware, and entertainment can also be arranged with Brotzeit if required, taking the much of the pain away from planning a party for the books. We say prost (German for cheers) to that.
