Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental, Singapore

Mandarin Oriental, Singapore celebrates mum with its Bloom and Reverie Afternoon Tea ($68++ per person, inclusive of coffee or tea), created in collaboration with Jo Malone London.

Each bite draws inspiration from the brand’s signature scent notes. Savoury highlights include Lime and Basil paired with Atlantic salmon and caviar; Rosemary & Tangerine with duck confit; and English Pear with Madagascar vanilla and brie.

For sweets, the hotel’s signature fan is reimagined as a Black Lemon cake with chocolate mousse and notes of Earl Grey and bergamot, alongside a Mandarin Orange creation with fromage blanc mousse and almond streusel. Scones, in Vanilla and Gruyère Cheese flavours, are served with clotted cream and mandarin marmalade.

Happening for two nights only on 9 and 10 May (6pm-10:30pm), this special collaboration at Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentaro brings together Chūka Szechwan Ryori and contemporary Japanese omakase.

Chef Chen Kentaro and Chef Hashida “Hatch” Kenjiro unite for a deeply personal four-hands dinner, honouring the women who shaped their lives and culinary philosophies. The seven-course menu ($288++ per person) highlights seasonal spring produce.

Expect dishes such as Hassun-style Seasonal Appetisers, Hot & Sour Sea Cucumber and Fish Maw Chawanmushi, Abalone Noodles with chestnut sauce, Zhang Fei Beef with buckwheat taco, the restaurant’s signature Mapo Tofu, Wok-fried Rice with dried barracuda, and Honey-Lemon Eggplant with Almond Parfait. Optional wine pairing is available at $98++ per person.

The Mother of All Brunches at Firangi Superstar

At Firangi Superstar, Mother’s Day unfolds through bold flavours, playful reinterpretations, and a touch of theatre (10 May, 11am to 3pm).

The Mother of All Brunches ($75++ per person) is a four-course sharing experience by Chef Raj Kumar, featuring vibrant plates, signature mains, and an unlimited dessert bar designed for a leisurely celebration.

Begin with bites such as Scottish Salmon Naan, Chapli Kebab with wagyu beef, Blue Swimmer Crab Cutlet, and Fried Burrata with Manchurian sauce. Mains include favourites like Prata Waffle with Madras fried chicken, Fish & Chips with gunpowder spice, and Steak & Eggs.

Cocktails follow suit, with playful creations like Jangali Chidaya, Red Fort, Bianco Spritz, and Rosé Slushie alongside the full à la carte selection.

4-Course Experience at SKAI

Set high above the city with panoramic skyline views, SKAI offers a refined four-course menu from 8 to 10 May for both lunch and dinner (from $198++ per person).

The experience begins with Tuna Chutoro Toast with gochu mayo and tobiko, followed by a choice of starters such as Alaskan King Crab with yuzu kosho or a lighter Hijiki and Avocado Salad.

Mains highlight SKAI’s signature grill, with options including Charred Spanish Octopus, Corn-fed Baby Chicken with piccata sauce, and Iberico Pork Collar. For a more indulgent touch, guests can opt for Josper-grilled Scottish Lobster (+$55) or Charred Tiger Prawns (+$32).

Dessert features Honey Flower Pear paired with miso waffle, honey mochi, and Hokkaido milk ice cream.
