Extensive artisanal techniques, intricate gemsetting, and clever complications make up the bunch.

Patek Philippe presented 12 new models at this year’s edition of Watches & Wonders, including a notable line-up of ladies’ timepieces. In an interview with Forbes last year, President Thierry Stern said, “Asia was the first market to demand more complicated ladies’ watches from Patek Philippe, and now you can see this demand worldwide.”

Besides their technical highlights, the Genevan manufacture has long been a master of artful gem-setting techniques in the creation of discerning ladies’ watches. In merging two of the maison’s prowess, here are three stunning highlights.

Ref. 7121/200G Moon Phases

The new Ref. 7121/200G Moon Phases champions the lunar complication that takes centre stage on the blue sunburst dial. The moon-phase indication has been a distinguished feature on Patek Philippe ladies’ timepieces since 2013 on Ref. 7121J, a previous iteration in a diamond-studded, yellow gold number.

In similar fashion, precious gemstones again lavishly decorate the bezel in Ref. 7121, this time in the “dentelle” setting technique, a lace-like pattern resulting in two rows of brilliant jewels, a total of 132. The moonphase is displayed through a large aperture at 6 o’clock, enclosed within a small running seconds.

Set in a 33mm white gold case, the manually-**** mechanical Caliber 215 PS LU — the smallest Patek Philippe complicated movement — powers the hours, minutes, and moonphases.

Ref. 7130R World Time

The World Time line-up introduces stellar additions, of which includes the Ref. 7130R World Time (designed in the same style as the Ref. 5230P for its city and 24-hour discs configuration) in a rose gold case. The timepiece adopts a gorgeous olive green colourway that’s applied across the dial sectors and on the matching calfskin leather strap.

Exhibiting the art of rare handcrafts, the hand-guilloché centre follows a basket weave motif that’s topped with gold applied hour markers. 62 brilliant cut diamonds are set on the bezel, with another 27 set on the buckle.

At 36mm, it is classified as a ladies’ timepiece, though arguably it is suited for any wrist who prefers their watches in a smaller fit. In addition, the slim case houses the self-winding Caliber 240 HU, an ultra-thin movement.

Twenty~4

Miniscule, demure, and feminine, the Twenty~4 was the first exclusive feminine Patek Philippe collection when it was launched in 1999. It was designed as a companion for the life of modern, active women that’s wearable at any time of day and night and on every occasion.

With the latest Twenty~4 model now in an olive green dial, it adds a more colourful edition to the current lineup. The original shape of the curvaceous Art Deco-inspired two-tier case is flanked by a row of diamonds on either side, totalling 36 diamonds.
