"My investment journey with Oracare Group, which is one of the largest dental groups in Southeast Asia, began in 2016. As co-founder, I have played a day-to-day role, focusing on expanding Oracare’s presence throughout the region.

Oracare’s approach is one of joining forces with existing entrepreneurs in their own market, investing by way of a majority stake in their business to support their growth ambitions. Long before any financial metrics are assessed, the underlying investment approach is anchored on forging solid relationships, ensuring a strong cultural fit and strategic alignment. We take a long-term view on these investments, hence, focus on ensuring sustainable growth is supported by solid foundations, rather than chasing scale at the expense of business fundamentals.

I am particularly proud of Oracare’s first international foray, which was an investment into the MOS Dental brand in Thailand in 2019. They had 14 clinics at the time and through supporting the founders to build robust systems and infrastructure, as well as providing growth capital, enabled them to fulfil their ambitions of becoming market leader in Bangkok. They now have 30 clinics.

Our near-term pipeline will see us adding to our portfolio with the market leader of another Southeast Asian country, bolstering our existing brands in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia giving Oracare Group an overall footprint of over 60 clinics. Beyond this, we have plans to create a presence further in two territories in the next 12 months.

What makes Oracare stand out is the platform that we have created that strengthens as we continue to add the top dental entrepreneurs in the region to our team and embracing technology to improve the quality and efficiency of dental treatment. As a result, this amplifies the positive social impact Oracare brings through providing greater access to dental care to people across Southeast Asia.”
