YARA

Tucked within The Initial Sama on Evans Road, Yara is the newest concept by Eleven Seventeen Capital and offers a soulful take on modern Asian cuisine. Executive Chef Victor Loy crafts dishes that blend heritage flavours with contemporary flair.

Start with vibrant small plates like the Haricot Vert Kerabu or Breaded Muar Otah, then move to charcoal-grilled signatures, such as Grilled Fish of the Day, Spiced Chicken, or Wagyu Picanha. Comforting bowls like the Yu-Tang Clam Noodles and Koshihikari Rice Porridge showcase the kitchen’s gentler side.

Desserts reimagine classics, from a Chocolate Brusciato to the coconut-forward Chilled “Kueh Talam” Pudding.

THE PLUMP FRENCHMAN

Mondays are now for steak at The Plump Frenchman, thanks to the new Lundi, c’est le steak! set menu. Helmed by Chef Lorenz Hoja, the French brasserie serves a welcome cocktail, a classic salad, and a beautifully seared Angus Striploin with Café de Paris sauce, as well as unlimited fries.

Dessert is a refreshing Exotique featuring tropical fruit and coco sorbet – a light finish after a rich, comforting meal.

FAT PRINCE

Fat Prince returns with a refreshed identity and a menu that embraces bold, contemporary Middle Eastern flavours. Expect warm Egyptian house rolls with date butter, soulful mezze, and hearty favourites like the Moroccan Chicken Tagine and Lamb Porterhouse.

The signature Build-It Kebabs for two remain a highlight, while the six-course Feed Me menu offers a fuss-free way to sample the restaurant’s best dishes. Save room for dessert – the Dubai Chocolate Knafeh is a modern classic.

Weekday diners can opt for a value-driven Royal Set Lunch and on weekends, the two-hour Bottomless Brunch remains a crowd favourite. Cocktails also return with a punch like the Sultan’s Negroni, as well as refreshing zero-proof options like the Mirage Mojito.
