Where to Eat for SG60: Restaurants Serving Special Menus for the Nation's 60th National Day

There’s no better way to mark Singapore’s 60th birthday than with curated menus that celebrate our rich culinary heritage. From modern takes on hawker classics to luxurious chocolate creations and afternoon teas steeped in nostalgia, here’s a round-up of festive dining experiences to savour this August.

Korean-Inspired Flavours at GU:UM

Chef Louis Han puts a Korean twist on local favourites at GU:UM. Available all August, expect dishes like the Gochujang Soft Shell Chili Crab ($32), which swaps mantou for fried Korean rice cakes and topped with Korean green pepper and local red chilli.

The Dalkochi Satay ($26) marries satay culture from both Korea and Singapore with chicken thigh skewers, Japanese leeks, and rice cakes glazed with ssamjang rempah, served alongside Korean-style pickles and GU:UM’s in-house acar.

Other festive creations include crispy Mandu Wings ($18), and Uncle Lulu's Kimchi Fried Rice ($34, serves 2–3) with Jeju-marinated grilled squid. The GU:UM Sang Set Menu ($168 per person) includes a complimentary cocktail throughout August.

End your meal with the Red & White Bingsu ($18), a tribute to Singapore’s flag and ice kacang, which is layered with watermelon sorbet, fermented pomegranate, watermelon soju granita, yoghurt cream, and berries.

A National Day Cacao Experience at LeVeL33

On 9 August, LeVeL33 partners with Chef Janice Wong for the SG60 National Day Cacao Experience ($328++), a nine-course menu with craft beers, firework views, and live stations. Dishes include Chocolate-Aged Wagyu Beef with Janice Wong’s 52% coconut curry chocolate, and Spent Grain Laksa Pasta with grilled tiger prawns.

Desserts evoke playful nostalgia: Chilli Padi & Chendol Bon Bons, Jackfruit Snickers, and a Chocolate Water Rock with soy caramel and red fruit sorbet. And from 11 to 31 August, enjoy the King Island Tenderloin ($88++) aged in 70% dark chocolate, and the Cacao Sling ($26++)—a chocolatey riff on the Singapore Sling.

SG60 Heritage Dining at The Ritz Carlton Millenia

Colony celebrates with National Day Eve and Day dinner buffets (8–9 August, from $148), featuring live conservatory kitchens serving Otah-Stuffed Salmon Wellington, Laksa, Singapore Lobster Hokkien Mee, and Beef Rendang Lasagna.

The Champagne Brunch (9–10 August, from $238) includes free-flow Champagne Barons de Rothschild. Pioneer and Merdeka Generation guests (aged 60+) enjoy lunch at $60 with every three paying adults (valid Mon–Thurs, until 7 August).

At Summer Pavilion, Chef Cheung Siu Kong presents a 6-course Cantonese menu (from $188) from 4–10 August, including a Barbecued Stuffed Chicken Wing with Glutinous Rice inspired by nasi lemak.

Republic Bar offers a trio of SG-themed cocktails ($60 per set) until 10 August: the Majulah Sling, Lion City Voulévadier, and Marina Glow mocktail.

A Grand Celebration at The Singapore EDITION

The Lobby Bar offers hand-carved SG60 Heritage Chocolate Art in pistachio, hazelnut, passionfruit, or raspberry. Available till 31 August (order 48 hours in advance).

Launching 1 August, the SG60 Afternoon Tea (Wed–Sun till 30 Nov) presents two themed menus: Shophouse Stories ($60) and Little Red Dot ($88). Enjoy bites like Kaya Honeycomb, Balik Salmon Kueh Pie Tee, and Burnt Foie Gras Tart, followed by pandan cheesecake, pineapple chutney scones, and calamansi desserts.

At FYSH by Josh Niland, the SG60 menu features Wagyu Chuck Rib Satay, Fish Bone Noodles with spanner crab butter, and Sambal Roast Chicken.

Punch Room’s “Little Blue Dot” Menu explores local mythology via 12 cocktails, such as the Tempest Punch (inspired by Sang Nila Utama) and Straits Punch (a nod to William Farquhar).

On 9 August, the Skyline Bar hosts a rooftop feast with BBQ, local delights, Red Lions performance, and unbeatable firework views ($138++ per adult).

Peppermint’s Peranakan Heritage Buffet (till 10 August) includes Live Durian Stations (weekends), Rock Lobster with Chilli Chuka, Beef Belly Lemak, and more.

At Portman’s Bar, enjoy a Singapore-inspired Afternoon Tea (till 10 August) with Kopi Scones, Rojak You Tiao, and Chilli Crab Claws. Wash it down with local-themed cocktails like the Laksa-inspired Laksamana, Milo Old Fashioned, or the Ice Kacang.

National Day Dining at Saint Pierre

On 9 August only, 2 Michelin-Star restaurant Saint Pierre offers two elegant menus by Chef Emmanuel Stroobant. The 4-course lunch ($288++) features Hokkaido Hairy Crab with Chilli & Mantou, and Omi Beef with Rendang Sauce.

Meanwhile, the 7-course dinner ($688++ non-window, $788++ window, both with 2015 Dom Pérignon) includes Blue Lobster with Coconut Purée and Laksa Consommé, and Tulameen Raspberry with pandan and gula melaka.
