Relive 12 delicious years of Basilico with a menu celebrating its greatest hits

Over the years, Basilico at Regent Singapore has been one of my go-to places for celebrations: Birthdays, special family dinners, a mini reunion with friends. It was also one of the first places I went to after a month-long Italy trip to satiate my cravings for authentic Italian fare, as well as breads, cured meats, and a variety of Italian cheeses. It's fair to say, then, that the love for Basilico runs deep — for myself and many others. 

Today, Regent Singapore celebrates the Italian culinary institution's 12th anniversary with a special menu that pays homage to some of the greates, most iconic dishes that have been included in its menu. 

Such offerings include the likes of a truly decadent dish introduced back in 2009: Crisp pizza dough stuffed with mascarpone, provolone, and a three-milk Robiola, finished with Norcia black truffle shavings.

There is also the Sardinian Roasted Rack of Lamb; an extravagant version of the humble lasagna with a Wagyu beef ragout and a velvety fontina fondue; and the Risotto alla Pugliese that is brimming with fresh seafood like scallops, lobster, and tiger prawn.

According to Angelo Ciccone, former head chef at Basilico, "Over the years, we've had chefs from Milan, Naples, Rome, Lombardy — each has brought a perspective that has helped us represent a fuller picture of Italian cuisine. This also sparked a Basilissimo series, where we journey to the different regions of Italy and discover the deeper meaning of provenance through themed dinners."

The anniversary menu runs until the end of August and is available for lunch and dinner. The celebrations then culminates with a special Puglia wine dinner, featuring specialties of the Salento Peninsula: Gallipoli red prawns, salted anchovies, and orecchiette pasta cooked with broccoli rabe.
