Portfolio CBS Golf 2024

The signature annual tournament saw leaders of industry come together for an indulgent day of golf and good times.

Portfolio CBS Golf 2024 marked the second year that Credit Bureau of Singapore (CBS) took up the co-branding partner mantle and continues to position itself as the tournament of choice for the upper echelons of corporations and industry. PORTFOLIO commemorated its fourth instalment of the event with 144 players teeing off at the scenic Tanjong Course of Sentosa Golf Club.

Apart from co-branding partner CBS, other key sponsors included Main Sponsor Mitsubishi Electric Asia, Lifestyle Sponsor Interparfums, Equipment and Apparel Sponsor TaylorMade, and Whiskey Partner Campari RARE and Glen Grant.

While Tanjong may play the younger brother to its blooded brethren Serapong next door, it is by no means worth any less. Sentosa General Manager and course designer Andrew Johnston has, over the years, fine-tuned and tweaked this great layout to its high standards today. Tanjong being the venue of the HSBC Women’s World Championship 2024 is true testament to its challenge and reputation

Participants to the Portfolio CBS Golf 2024 expectedly received a fine collection of items even before they teed off. Portfolio goodie bags containing an issue of the eponymous magazine, an arm sleeve sponsored by Cygnett, a tote bag and voucher sponsored by W Atelier, a dozen golf balls and polo tee by TaylorMade, and Jimmy Choo perfume sponsored by Interparfums were handed out at registration to all golfers.

Winning one of the four fantastic hole-in-one prizes was on the back of each golfer’s mind. Cornerstone Wines sponsored the 120-wine cellar filled with 120 bottles of wine worth S$8,888 at the shortish hole 4 with a panoramic backdrop of the city skyline and Marina Bay Sands. At hole 15, a trip for two on Insight Vacations Country Roads of Portugal worth US$5,000 was to be had for an ace. W Atelier’s $30,000 sponsorship of designer furnishings awaited the lucky player at hole 17. And a golfer could drive away a BMW i5 touring for a hole-in-one at the monstrous 238m seventh hole.

Of course, as with all Portfolio CBS golf tournaments, participants had myriad chances to win great prizes too. Novelty games have always been a hit, and there was no shortage of these at this year’s event.

There were three Nearest to Pin opportunities – Patrick Chong at hole 4, Zha Jia Zhi at hole 7, and Clinton Ang at hole 17 all won TaylorMade TP Black Putters by hitting their balls closest to these respective holes. Zhong Ming was most accurate at the Nearest to Line when he found his tee shot on the line at hole 9, also winning a TaylorMade TP Black Putter.

Longest Drive went to Kevin Koo who bombed it to 260m on hole 12, winning a TaylorMade Spider Tour Putter.
