The Franco-Swiss watchmaker adds a captivating limited edition to its Professional line.

Having captivated aviation enthusiasts with the cockpit-inspired BR-03 Horizon, Bell & Ross has climbed to even greater heights with the BR-03 Astro — crossing the threshold where sky turns to night. The 999-piece limited edition was born out of admiration for the International Space Station (ISS)’s observation dome, Cupola, transforming the wrist into a celestial vantage point.

Anchoring the dial is a realistic planet Earth rendered via decal on a carved spherical glass cap and recessed into the sapphire crystal. Orbiting the blue planet is Mars, representing the hours, a laser-engraved Moon (complete with visible craters) for the minutes, and a laser-engraved metal satellite for the seconds. These floating indicators demanded meticulous weight calculations to ensure perfect balance as they circle the dial. And the dial is, as expected, made of blue aventurine for its starry effect.

“I imagined Earth seen from space in symbolic alignment with the Moon and Mars,” explains Bruno Belamich, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Bell & Ross. “The magic of this watch lies in its display — not as a technical interpretation of an instrument watch but, for once, in an imaginative dimension.”

Poetry meets precision in the BR.CAL-327 automatic movement (the same calibre that powers the BR-03 Horizon) offering 54 hours of autonomy. It’s housed in the BR-03 collection’s new down-sized dimensions of 41mm, has an overall thickness of 11.5mm, and is water-resistant to 100m. The black ceramic case can be paired with either a black rubber strap with a black PVD-coated steel pin buckle or a black synthetic fabric strap.

Void of numerals, minute track, and text, the BR-03 Astro is less watch and more miniature porthole to the cosmos.
